Collections of the Month

As Thamizhini is growing bigger, talking more and does lots of activities, we capture more videos than pictures these days. I was just wondering what to post and what not. But at last I came to a conclusion that I write a post with all videos in the end of the month with little description and narrate more about video in a separate post if the video deserves for it. Howz that!

I liked this video a lot. We taught "Miyaav" sound to her and she was just saying everywhere. Particularly on this day, we were just clicked her "Zinga" dance and I was seeing that from mobile and she danced by seeing that for some time. While resting, some how she remembered "Miyaav" and was telling me. When she does this to her dad, he says "Bayama iruku da" and she came to me by telling "Appa ke bayama iruku". I love the way she tells and she knew that her Dad is a brave fellow and will not fear for anything, but fears for Miyaav.

Check out how she tells "Thamizh" and more importantly "Pammunu Iru, Paappa Azhuva", Pammunu Iru, means Kammunu iru.

We captured below video when my bro visited here this month. He has to dance and has to do lot of funny things to attract Thamizhini, then only Thamizhini will think of moving out with him. Check out how her mama is taking horse ride on him. More than this, she is much comfortable with her Ammayi's horse ride. In this video she did not do, but you can check, how she jumps on her Ammayi's back.

She loves to eat "Watermelon" and this is how she looked after eating that. And check out how she drools and tells about it.

We have a habit of "Suthipod"-ing for Thamizhini. Even though we do work in a IT company and knows cutting edge Technology of everything, we can't avoid these kinda formalities. Thamizhini likes to do this and check out how she does and tells them. I love the way she tells "Pisachu Kannu". Credit goes to her Ammayi for teaching all kannus and at last the word "Odi Po" !

The below one is same as above, but check out her expression in the last frame. Is it called "Style" ?

Funtime with Daddy

Thamizhini would get great stomach painful laugh when she plays with her Dad. No matter what he does, but she loves to laugh at his each actions. And this time with a bublegum.

Check out the below video, how they both play and how Thamizhini's cranky mood gets in. Yes. I'm sure at last Nalin got pain in his mouth. :P I was enjoying this video and likes to see now and then, because Thamizhini is doing left and right on her Dad. :

Thamizhini's Dictionary

Thamizhini's verbal power is increasing like anything, my goodness, I never thought that Thamizhini could remember these many words. Also she is much expressive when she talks.

Following are some sentences that she is using most these days:

If she is having something and if we ask that she says: "Don't touch, Paappa azhuva"!

If I ask her to come for bath, she simply says: "Don't touch"!

My mom was very busy in kitchen doing dishes, I asked her like "Ammayi enna panranga?" She says "Ammayi velai panranga!"

If tell her like sit properly or else you will fall down, She replies like "Paapa bathrama utkrandhrke". Check out the below video how she tells.

If we make her to sleep in "Thuli", she asks us, "Amma paatu paadu" and if we sing something, then she says "Antha paatu vena, Araaro ro paadu"

Her daddy taught her to say "Love you so much" and as a reply "me too". She just passes by and comes closer, gives a hug and tells, "Amma me too, me too"! I was surprised to hear "Me too" and asked her "what is me too?" She says "Love you so much, me too!"

Check out the below video, how she talks and tells "Please". She says, "Amma please ma" and sometimes pleads "Amma 2 minutes please"! Her Ammayi was shocked to hear "Ammayi 2 mins" when she was playing in Slide.

If we get angry on her for her naughtiness, she calls us by clapping her hand and tells "Paapa te va, va, Thole -le paduthuko" and tells "Sorry"

I could still remember the below incident, that time she was not talking proper words but she was able to call us like Amma, Appa and etc.  One day her Apuchi and she was playing in the hall. While playing her apuchi told "Doooo" and added that he won't talk with her. Any guess, what she had done, She came to me and tells "Amma, Apuchu dooo...." But these days, she tells, Amma Apuchi pesa matengranga, Do vidranga.

Check out how she talks with her Apuchi, She was trying to explain the aeroplane that she has just seen.

Zoo Zoo... Vandalur Zoo

It was quite a long time plan that going to "Zoo". It is located just 20kms away and we were planning for past 4 to 5 months.  But somehow we made on this weekend. We were waiting Thamizhini to complete her one year, to take her anywhere outside, as she may not feel uncomfortable and here the Chennai climate is too hot always regardless of winter or spring. So I always think more than two times, before I take her out.
All set towards birds cage
The zoo is also known as "Arignar Anna Zoological Park" as it is named after Tamil politician Arignar Anna. The zoo has rescue and rehabilitation center, the park is the largest zoological garden in India and is home to seven white tigers. But we saw only one, and that was lying on the floor. :-)
Walking Happily...
We started from house around 2 O' clock and we entered to the park by 3. Thamizhini was so excited as we were telling her that we are going to zoo, and see lots of animals and birds. As she knew almost all the birds and animals from her book, we were telling her the names of birds and animals, like, we are going to see Lion, Tiger, Elephant, Peacock, Vulture and so on. She was literally excited to the core.
Giving Pose to her Mama!
She was ready to walk and we started walking towards birds first. Thamizhini's Dad and her Mama was so happy than Thamizhini, to see / show the first Animal. Any guess, why were they happy? Yeah, they are very happy because the first animal is "Chimpanzee". They both were showing Thamizhini that look at "Amma", amma is playing and hanging there. :P Grr.... But for that Thamizhini responded by showing me as , "amma inge iruku" :-)
Collaged! and Check out the Monkeys
There were lots and lots of birds, too much to see and all were like damn cute. We saw white and blue-green colored peacock, its plumage was so nice to see when it fans its tail (dancing).
We packed food for Thamizhini and took break for sometime to feed her. She was totally enjoying her lunch and liked to share with Deers over there. She was calling them and giving food like "Va... Va... Deer Mum Mum" :-)
Break!
There were battery cars which were operated to commute all over the zoo. We thought it would be better to walk so that we can spend time where ever we want, rather than just going to all the places in allotted time.
With Mama
Thamizhini was so happy to walk and explore each side of the road! Since there were no disturbance on the road, we felt happy to leave her on own. She was just running here and there and liked to relax for sometime.
Jolly walk!
When we were reaching towards Lion's cage, we heard Lion's roaring sound. It was too heavy to hear and we could realize the power in its voice. Thamizhini was bit scared to hear that, but later she started telling "Lion... Appa Singam" and she mimicked how her Appa roars like Lion as he used to say that he is a Lion :-D Grr....
Come fast Amma!
After seeing Lion, we went to see Tigers. A cute tiger was roaming here and there near its cage. It was very beautiful to see and we could realize its boldness in its walk. It never bothered about people, it was just walking and relaxing himself. Also we saw a cute White Tiger. It was just laying on the floor, wrecking himself and once in a while just looks up and turn to see around. Thamizhini was telling, "Appa tiger paduthruku, koongthu (for thoonguthu)" and shows by turning her head towards her dad's shoulder.
We saw Flamingo, this is the second time (Rain water is stagnated in front of our Apts, and there we saw two weeks before) we see flamingo, and it was making huge noise as there were more than 25 flamingo in one big cage. Her wings are so big and it folds its half of a wing inside when it sits. Thamizhini was seeing this for very long time, because other birds were alone one in the cage.
Nice to walk with Amma and Amatha!
There were lot other animals we saw. Elephants, Giraffe, Deer, Dotted deer, Zebra, (lazy) Crocodile and all variety of monkeys. We totally spent around 3 hours there, and as  closing time was nearing we marched towards "out". If we would have started bit early with packed food even for us, we could have stayed for some more time and relaxed in between the meal. My mother was totally tired to walk and even Thamizhini, at last she asked us to carry her.
Basically it was wonderful outing not only for Thamizhini, but for us too! There were lots and lots of families and even they have brought there babies, those who are not even 6months old. Hmm... I just thought of myself once before leaving that place.

Healthy Eating Habits

Thamizhini started to follow a routine in her eating habits. I have seen many mommies running behind their kids with their food on plates cups. They used to take food in a cup and feed to kids in the play area. And kids will be more playful and they even don't know what they eat. How bad it is and how painful it will be for the parents?

But I'm good Amma
By seeing them, I decided in the early days of Thamizhini's that I'm not going to do this and also I strictly told my parents not to feed her outside of Flat. I'm really feeling happy and little bit proud for making Thamizhini as a disciplined tot. And I'm sure that is for her good health only and nothing is wrong in restricting them on healthy food.

Yes, Amma is right, nothing wrong in healthy food!
I have got many advice (yes again, mainly from OLD ones) for Thamizhini that we have to give all kind of eatables to her. And for them Tea, Coffee, Biscuits, Bread, Mixture, Murukku (Do you worry how Thamizhini eat, with one or two teeth? No worry, some one can chew and give), Maggie, Chocolates and all kind of sweets are coming under the category of eatables and if Thamizhini likes, these can be given even daily too! Lucky Thamizhini :-)

And for this, they say a proverb, meaning that baby will be strong and strength if they eat all junks. Not only this, the ultimate one is, whoever eat, whatever they eat and whenever they eat (3 times a day), Baby has to go and eat from their plates, If she is not ready or not liking to eat, we have to call her and force her to eat. Yuck... Uvee.... Nonsense. This is the culture and that is how they brought up the children. Hmm.. Hell and they are very proud for doing this.
I'm kid, how will I know what to eat and what not? You teach me amma.
I feel irritated with all these nonsenses and I stopped hearing them! What is the use of elders when they don't teach good eating habits? We have to teach kids that how to eat,  when to eat and what to eat? Thamizhini's pediatrician has told us to avoid all junks like biscuits, candy, cookies and snacks. She told me this when Thamizhini was six months old. Yeah, Dr knew that we start giving biscuits in that age only. From that time I restricted all junk items and limited sugar and salt too.

Till now I have given only vegetables, fruits, milk, any porridge, chapati, chicken, fish and rice items. Nothing else. She likes to have all the vegetables, she asks for it when I start giving food like, Amma peas, amma carrot and amma mungakai (for drumstick). And she is not fussy in her meal time. She knows what she eats and she like her food. I'm happy that she takes healthy food, instead of empty calorie snacks like chips, or cookies.
Amma, I'm not interested on junk foods!
I followed simply this way: If she likes to eat, let her eat. Or wait for some more time, so that she will be hungry". This worked our for me, because as I said, I don't give biscuits, cookies, sweets or any kinda snacks. At any cast, she has to eat only vegetables, fruits, fruit juices, rice.  And I make sure that I will give her variety foods among list. Sometimes I get advice from others to give Idly + sugar if she does not like to eat. They think that will encourage her to eat. Yes, I'm sure that will encourage them to eat, but what is the use of eating just sugar? Any point? just filling babies stomach is the only goal? Hmm..  I don't add sugar to milk at all. If I count, I would have given only 10 biscuit pieces to her. I have this option open when Thamizhini is not feeling well.

As a result of this, Thamizhini is in healthy weight. So I'm convinced with, teach healthy eating habits and get healthy weight.  Also I strictly prohibit her, to get food from others plate. As I said earlier, kids used to eat their food in park / play area, sometimes they give food to other kids as other kids would be watching the one, who is eating his / her meal / snacks, or they ask like, "mum sapdriya". And obviously kids will say YES, if the food is interesting. This habit will be continued even if they go outside. And I know how dangerous this could be when they start going out.
Also I remember myself one thing, that is, this is the age for babies to make healthy habits and once they start going to school and know what others eat, then everything comes to an end. These days television commercials for junk foods are making children to eat well might seem more useless than fruitful.

At Native

We had been to native for our relative's marriage and it was a total fun to be in the new place and environment. Compared to last time, Thamizhini was bit easy going with new faces, she was not crying to be with new ones but she was feeling bit shy. Yeah, She was telling "vetkam vandhiruchu" :P

Ammavum Naanum!
As her Maama also had come to native, Thamizhini was so happy to play with him. He used to play with her very naughtily and makes her to laugh so much. And of course, sometimes he used to make her frighten by showing faces. But, as a growing tot, these days she is not getting frightened!

Enjoying with Maama.
We had been to "Bannari Amman Temple" for our sister's marriage and we clicked some photos there.

Check out, Thamizhini is scolding her maama.

Again, Ammavum naanum...!!!

20th Month

My cute one and a half year old little sweetie has become more sweet! Yes, these days Thamizhini understands what I tell her and follows it, even what her grandma tells. I really feel that she has become a disciplined tot. She has much more developments in attitude compared to previous months. As she is able to talk to some extend, she could express what she wants too!
I'm a good girl
Even though she demands that I have to feed her food, she is quite good in her eating manners. She sits in one place and eats. She doe not get disturbed with anything, even if TV or toys. Do u know what is her dining place? She likes to sit and eat on her Toy Car. Thanks Sharmi for this wonderful car! Whenever I say that food is ready, she will just run to the Car and waits for me to give food.
Chef in action!
Also she likes to feed herself. Earlier though, she ate herself with our help, but that time she spills out food in the floor and that would be of waste. But now she is more concerned about not to spill food. She likes to take in hand / spoon and eats perfectly. If Idly, Dosa kinda food, I make it small pieces and keep in plates, she herself takes and eats. If upma, curd rice or any porridge, she herself takes in spoon  and eats nicely. She follows how we do for her, like, takes a spoon full of food and cleans the corner of the spoon and takes to mouth. Also she cleans her mouth with spoon when the food goes out of her mouth.
But sometimes naughty!
I would simply sit with her by watching her when she eats in spoon. I feel really proud that I made this change to her. Now she knows the importance of the food and she follows timing too. These days I don't felt any trouble from her for food. She really like and enjoy eating.
Mundasu illatha Bharathi!
I feel happy that she came to a routine in her eating habits. I know the pain when they don't eat and I everyday see in my apartments, how mommies are running behind the kids with the plates on their hand in parks and play areas. Me decided in the early days itself, by seeing them and I strictly told my parents not to feed her outside of Flat.
Wow....
If I see other developments, she likes to sit and play some games. Before she always likes to drop the things. Whatever she wants, we have to give her and she will drop that from top to bottom and roam around the house. These days she plays all the board alphabets and likes to see her books for new animals.

My Ladder of Life - Amma

Hmm... I know this title is too much..... :P But want to be everything for my daughter. Whatever her likes.... I have to fulfill them! She likes to climb on me and there is no time for it. Look at the video how she enjoys... (But what is the link between the video and the title????)
