Successful 2nd Year

We all were happy to the core to throw out a party to dear and near ones for this special day. We planned to have celebration on the birth date itself even though the date falls on weekday! Her Ayah had taught her that July 2nd is her birthday and she started telling this to everyone and happily invited them for the party. We had planned to celebrate her birthday on the hall which was readily available on our Apts itself.
Morning some how she woke little early than usual and took bath nicely! I made her to  wear new dress and when I asked her what was special today, she told, "Happy Birthday Enaku". It was so lovely to hear this. After breakfast, We went to near by temple and did "Archanai" for her.  Thamizhini was not very much aware that we have a party tonight for her, even though she had attended many birthday parties.

We partially prepared food for the party and order few items from outside to reduce our burden in the evening.  My friend Lakshhmi came early with her kid Gayathri to the party and she was helping us in preparation. I dressed Thamizhini with cute salvar set and she very much liked to wear it. She liked that Dupata very much and sometimes she used to take mine and wear. As this was her first Salvar, she was very much happy to have that Dupata on her. We all were ready by 6pm and moved to the party hall which located in our block.
There were many kids on the party and all were enjoying and playing with balloons and color paper. Thamizhini was in full of joy and I guess she felt that she was center of attraction as all kids were coming and giving gifts to her. She was happily collecting gifts and never worried about who is giving her :D She would have thought collecting is her only duty on that day!
Me and Nalin invited few of our friends from office and rest all are Thamizhini's friend in the Apartment. I was not knowing few of her friends, but she was happily calling them and playing around there.
We have ordered Brown bear (yeah, Brown bear Brown bear, what do you see?) cake and it came out really well. All kids were very happy to see that Bear cake and all were waiting to cut the cake. We cut cake by 7:30 as most of the invite have come in time. It was really wonderful to have all kids around the table and all were happily singing happy birthday to Thamizhini! We can celebrate each birthday like this just to have all kids around us.
Dinner started soon after cake cutting and my friend Lakshmi helped to serve better. She gave idea of keeping all food in order so that it will be easy to serve without missing any of the items. Kids were enjoying drinks and cake where elders had their dinner relaxedly!
The party was over by around 9:30 and we came back to house after light cleaning of the room by 10pm. Thamizhini was damn tired but still she was not ready to go to sleep. She really does not have any idea about the gifts and did not ask us to open it also. Even we felt not to open now as we all were very much tired and we thought we could not surely control Thamizhini. She was simply carrying all the gifts and covers and was roaming here and there in the house.
I could say the party had gone very well,  Me and Nalin are satisfied ourself that we have retreated all our friends :-)

23rd Month

My little one going to be two years old next month! Time runs very fast! It is really amazing to think about these two years. I always tell Nalin that, she was nowhere two years back, but now she is everywhere running, jumping, talking and doing all naught stuffs at home.
Naane Naughty!
About her developments, needless to say that she has become pro in talking and doing all things on her own (only when she wants).  As she is grown up now, she just understands each and every movement we do. We can not simply escape from her.
Yeah, Amma should not go to office
These days it is really tough for me to start to office. I need to do all kinda trick to cheat to her and need to run office. But my dear lady does not search me once I left office. She also just makes drama for that 10minutues. After 15 or 20 mins, she will not really think about me. That is for sure! Grr... And one another thing is that she says "Bye bye" to her Appa nicely.
Amma, ipdi thaan thunguveengala? :P
I must say that she is feeling too much shy when she sees new faces. Not only at home, but where ever she sees. I sometime feel when she will stop her mouth, but if some one comes to home, that is all. Her lips will get locked automatically! I had taken her to office one day on the last month and there too, she was not talking to any one, but she is talking on her own sitting in my place and roams around office. She is not scared to see any one newly, but feels shy to talk with anyone.

This I can not say as a positive development. Earlier bathing was very tough for me, not for dressing her. I think her like a doll and I used to make her ready after bath. Also no fuss for her clothes. But these days she does not like to wear clothes and even if she likes, then she only has to chose. Every day she wants new dress :-(
Amma scolds me, if I ask for new dress!
Compther, Yeah this is how she says for Computer. She never allows me to sit there for a second, somehow she will smell that I'm on system and she will come to me, then sit on my lap. That is all! My work gone! Really very tough to do blogging these days. :-( Check out the below photo how she looks at system monitor.
Enna thaan inthe FB le parkrangalo :O
Whenever I open Facebook, she will also join with me and demands for photo. I have to show all kids photo whoever had added. I could remember this incident, when I write this: One day I was checking my friend's kid photo and she was telling me that "Amma antha paapa enaku venum" :D

22nd Month

As you follow this blog, you must be knowing that Thamizhini started talking very nicely by seeing the last month's videos. I was complaining that after knowing few words like, "Don't touch, mma Please ma, Paapa Azhuva", she was not at all listening to our words. And as she speaks fluently, we are in trouble always. We can't simply escape by telling her something.
Yeah! its my sipper!
Whatever it may be, playing with toys or eating fruits, she does it perfectly. She knows what she wants and asks us by saying the name and at least she uses three to four words to make a sentence and these days always with sentences. Even if she simply wants water to drink, she asks like " amma antha thanni venum" or "amma en water bottle enge". I just think of earlier days and sometimes I loose myself on those memories. I remember her telling "Thayi" for water. Now she is not only telling "Thanni", but makes full sentence and ask us.
So tasty, it is watermelon!
Also she helps a lot at home, if we want something and she will run and get it. If phone rings, she will run, if someone wants water, she will run and get it. If we say that we want water and we go to take ourself, she will start crying saying that she will only do. Lovely Darling!
They are my friends....!!! I always be with them.
These days she is so much fond of wearing coolers. We have bought one for her size, but she never likes to wear that, but always runs to mine or her Daddy's. Check out the photo poses that she has given for us with goggles.
:O I feel I look very innocent in this :P
Hey! How do I look?

I'm pretty in Appa's coolers :-)
Check out her hair clips. It is not her interest, but mine. :P Sometimes she is like a baby doll, I love to dress her nicely, comb and clip her hair and of course she accepts it. But many times she does not like :-( She neither likes Bindhi not clips.

21st Month

Thamizhini is nearing 2years shortly, I feel like she is just born but already 20months passed. These days Thamizhini is too much naughty and it is like no one can control her. She does not ready to obey for anyone's words. I believe that she is living in her own world where there is no one to control her. She never get frighten for my scoldings / yellings but animals. Yes, Animals.
Everybody is scared of me! But I'm scared of Miyaav
These days 'Cat' is playing an important role. Cat's "Miyaaav" makes her to close her eyes tightly and makes her to sleep. Her Daddy has a mobile application, which makes the sounds of animals. So while going to bed, he plays "Miyaav" and she hugs me tightly, so I have to struggle for breathing. :-) Even when she troubles others, we play that, so that she calmly come and sit on our lap. When she was born, we thought we should grow her up brave. But now, No other go!!! :-(
Resting after super play!
And for this month, her development is in to "Only Talking". Her little mouth never stopped and I could say that this is the month she learnt more words. I never thought that she could catch up these more words just in a week. She asks, talks and demands too! She can talk by making her own sentence, not like "get me milk". She tells "Apuchi utkarndhu sapdranga", "Ammayi phone le pesranga", "Pappa cycle le bye bye pore" "Mama bangalore le irundhu kalile varuvanga". I'm sure we taught her none of these sentences. She makes on her own and talks.
I help Ammayi in washing!
I could see all this difference in just five days. We had been to native for a week and after came back here, I could see how naughty she became. Before she used to listen my words and sit in a place and eats herself.
No place to sit for me!
But now, she started roaming all over the house, climbing on chairs, chairs to tables, standing on her toy car, standing on her bicycle, always wanted some one to be with her, and if she wants something, she will ask by crying and rolling on the floor. :-D My goodness, I never thought she will become such rude baby. :-) The other big thing is she wants me always.
I don't want you
Yes, wants me or my hair. Now she is habituated of holding my hair while sleeping. Even while sleeping she needs it, her hand will be just moving and catching my hair even I move away from her. She knows that it irritates me, but still she can not help herself.
Making Apuchi frighten
Check out the below picture, how she rides on the bike! A sample for her naughtiness.
Bye bye!

20th Month

My cute one and a half year old little sweetie has become more sweet! Yes, these days Thamizhini understands what I tell her and follows it, even what her grandma tells. I really feel that she has become a disciplined tot. She has much more developments in attitude compared to previous months. As she is able to talk to some extend, she could express what she wants too!
I'm a good girl
Even though she demands that I have to feed her food, she is quite good in her eating manners. She sits in one place and eats. She doe not get disturbed with anything, even if TV or toys. Do u know what is her dining place? She likes to sit and eat on her Toy Car. Thanks Sharmi for this wonderful car! Whenever I say that food is ready, she will just run to the Car and waits for me to give food.
Chef in action!
Also she likes to feed herself. Earlier though, she ate herself with our help, but that time she spills out food in the floor and that would be of waste. But now she is more concerned about not to spill food. She likes to take in hand / spoon and eats perfectly. If Idly, Dosa kinda food, I make it small pieces and keep in plates, she herself takes and eats. If upma, curd rice or any porridge, she herself takes in spoon  and eats nicely. She follows how we do for her, like, takes a spoon full of food and cleans the corner of the spoon and takes to mouth. Also she cleans her mouth with spoon when the food goes out of her mouth.
But sometimes naughty!
I would simply sit with her by watching her when she eats in spoon. I feel really proud that I made this change to her. Now she knows the importance of the food and she follows timing too. These days I don't felt any trouble from her for food. She really like and enjoy eating.
Mundasu illatha Bharathi!
I feel happy that she came to a routine in her eating habits. I know the pain when they don't eat and I everyday see in my apartments, how mommies are running behind the kids with the plates on their hand in parks and play areas. Me decided in the early days itself, by seeing them and I strictly told my parents not to feed her outside of Flat.
Wow....
If I see other developments, she likes to sit and play some games. Before she always likes to drop the things. Whatever she wants, we have to give her and she will drop that from top to bottom and roam around the house. These days she plays all the board alphabets and likes to see her books for new animals.

19thMonth

This month is a full of festival and party months for Thamizhini. We had Thamizhini's daddy's birthday, Pongal and other friends birthday too! As a development, she started telling "Happy Birthday" as "Appy Bothday" But her daddy was so happy to hear her wishes.
How am I looking?
Her learning curve is growing very fast, she wants to read one or the other book always. Else she needs her alphabets, blocks or balls to play with. She ask us to carry her and wants to see the charts that were hung for her. She asks about everything and remembers the same.
:-) check out my hand (its on amma's hair)
As she is able to talk small small words, these days she is always saying one or the other things. Talks herself or talks to her toys. She takes a doll in hand and tells, baby mummu.... baby koongu (thoongu) like that! But she never likes to sleep! These days making her to take her afternoon nap is that much tough!
I'm not naughty!
She loves to drive her bicycle. Wondering how? Whenever she goes near to her cycle, her bodyguards surround her left and right! And she knew that at any cost, they will safe her from falling down. So she enjoys it and sometimes she frightens bodyguards too!
My bike!
Earlier my bigger and tough task was giving medicine to her. But now she knows what is it and ask from me. Look at the below picture how she drinks it. Lovely baby!
I can take myself
She talks so much when she is at home and when she is accompanied with family members. But if any new face joins the group, that is all! She won't even open her mouth. She won't say a single word at all. May be some phobia. :P The below picture we clicked when Bena's family had come down to our home.
My micky!

18th Month

My sweet little one is one and half years old now. Yep! Great 18months. Till one year, there were not much change, just growing in size. But after one year, everything got changed. She is not like how she was yesterday and it is same for the next day too!
Achachoo....!!!
I was feeling guilty (or relieved???) as I stopped nursing her and felt that I may not have enough time to spend with her. But this little one is not changed and she feels like, you feed me or not, but I need you for everything. Be with me when I awake in the morning, Give me bath, dress me, feed me the breakfast, lunch and dinner, play with me and of course sleep with me.
Amma.... Intha Mum Mum...!!!
I was thinking that Thamizhini would be "Daddy's Daughter" once I stopped nursing her. But no way. She is still the same and more dependent on me. Nothing is moving around without me. She needs me in each and everything. I feel really happy for this and more than that I love this bonding. I want this to be continued till the end of our life. But sometimes I feel like, what if I'm not around, say for one or two nights? I don't think Nalin can manage her and she would end all day crying for me. It would be really tough.
Appa... Amma kaiyile :P
Thamizhini's favorite time pass for these days is folding. She likes to fold whatever she gets in her hand. It may be a lengthy towel, hand kerchief or even her cloths. She does it, the same way as we do. First she shakes off the cloth, then put it on the floor or bed, and tries to fold it. But poor girl, never folded one cloth properly. Sometimes she put the towel on her and tires to fold it, as we stand and fold the cloths.
Folding...
Thamizhini knew how to pray to God, but this month she learnt to pray by saying slokhas / song. She was imitating exactly how her dad was doing it. Everyday morning when he prays, he sings the song that started as "Paalum theli thenum...". So Thamizhini started saying that and imitates by doing the pooja in empty hands. She says the song as "Paal venu...paal venum...then venu..." like that.  We used to make fun as saying, "whatever happens, let it happen, but she wants milk to drink". We tried our level best to capture this, but Thamizhini was most interested in seeing camera, so once she realized that we are capturing her, she stops saying and comes to camera. Naughty...

How do I look?
As I said she spent most of time by chatting to herself. Do you want to see, how she prays to God, and how she reads a magazine? Check out the video below:

17th Month

My little darling is seventeen months old and I'm happy that my little one is growing up with lots of activities. Bringing up a child is one of the most difficult responsibilities in parenting. And I'm sure all parents must have crossed this line.  We always think about our kids and have lots and lots (or loads) plans to bring up them and most important in the list is, discipline. As Thamizhini is nearing 1.5 years, I'm sure she knew some of things that what she can do and what she can't. She hears not only the words (mainly "NO") I say, but I'm sure the tone of my voice. She reacts to it, but most of times, she makes me to laugh.  :P
Amma, Trust me, I will not repeat it!
Children are like wet clay, we can mold them in any shape and they learn everything by seeing and absorb everything around them. Thamizhini is no different and she tries to mimic what elders do, either good or bad! Generally it is parents responsibility that how we insist values to them and I make sure that I don't miss this in parenting. But sometimes as I said earlier, she makes us smile by seeing her naughtiness, but may be after seeing repeatedly, we get irritated and of course, there is no use of yelling her at that time!
Hey Anna!!!
And I have to make a note that this was an important month to me in parenting. Yes! I have successfully weaned her from feeding. I would say that I was feeling guilty about wanting to wean, but my cutie is not very serious on the business but wanted my nearness. The process took a week for me, and end of the week, we had traveled to our native, so she totally forgot about it in the new environment. Yeah! An important milestone for my baby and I'm happy that she passed this too!
I don't need amma, I can standalone!!
Her understanding ability is going high, so we have to consider her while talking. Also she talks nicely and started telling what she wants not only her toys or food! And these days, her usual word is "Ammatte"  meaning that she wants to go to Amma. And these days she asks us by saying "Kuva Kuva Vaathu", "Ala Ala" (means Nila Nila, and I love to see her hands action to call Nila), 'Kaakka paattu" and "Anna Paattu" (this is a song "veyilodu vilayadi" from Veyil movie). More interesting thing is that  she does not know how to ask for the next song, so she would ask "Appa ithu vena" meaning that "I don't want this". But she will not say what she want next! I would be extremely happy for her Daddy by thinking that bad time started for him!
Howz my outfit? All matching.. matching...!!!
We had been to native for our cousin's marriage and I hope now, Thamizhini would remember everyone in native and whatever she had seen there. She walks around all day with her head in the clouds, because she saw many dogs, cows and buffalo. Her Appuchi was astonished by seeing her mimicry and even me. She mimicked by hearing a buffalo sound as it is. Trust me, no different.
Chitiiiiiiiiiiiiii.... (I'm very sure that she did not see Chiti serial but still she got it in that way!!!)
As I said earlier, her grasping power is going high and she remembers if we tell something to her. Her mama has brought Ball house / tent from Ireland and she knows the colors of the balls. We were simply telling her like "Its blue ball, pink ball, yellow and green ball by showing balls whenever she was playing. So now she knows about the colors not only from balls, even she identifies the colors of her toys.

I could see her changes, month by month and I'm sure she is on the right path. Even though she is adamant on somethings, she is quite good on doing her own things, only thing we have to let her to do that. But as she is supported with her grandparents, she enjoys lot of naughty things.

16th Month

This cute little pie is sixteen months old and I'm still not realizing how fast time run! I'm really happy that she calls me Amma, finally my little one learnt that one. So what else, these days always Amma Amma Amma.. She calls me for no reason. Even though I'm bit annoyed, I feel happy to hear her chanting. :P A big full stop for calling Appa all the time. :D And not only this, she calls everyone and ask what she needs. The famous sentence these days is "Aayaa Paal" (means Granny, Milk) :P
I can eat myself!
Also these days she likes to feed herself! Before whenever I feed food, she will cry and try to get the spoon from me, but that is for playing with the spoon. But these days, she gets spoon from me and she only takes little bit of food in the spoon and eats herself. Growing up......!!!
See, how I'm holding this ball!
I was surprised to see her with three balls in her hand. They were small balls, but still she holds all three in one hand. She watched how we hold them and she did the same. It was really a amazing scene to see her with three balls in one hand and more over, we used to get laugh by seeing her when she tried to hold them without leaving even one of the balls to ground.
Play time with Appa... Once in a Blue Moon!!!
We use to show Thamizhini to the mirror after she dressed up in the morning. She likes to see herself and I often wonder what this little one might be thinking by seeing the image on the mirror. So now it is routine habit and whenever she dressed up, she herself go to mirror and sees herself.

Hey! How my cap and booties look?
As I said earlier posts, she likes to read her book now and then. She always roam here and there and finally settle down with a book in hand which is right under the TV table. She knows almost all of her book names and if we say names, she get it to us. So this was very useful for us to ask some of the things which we need. She likes to see the "Activity book" and from that only she learnt how to kick the ball. She says like, smiling, eating mammu, running, bathing by seeing the photos.
I'm busy in reading....!!!
Reading book is a nicest thing for her and likes to drop down all the books from shelf but never liked to arrange it back in the place. I must admit one thing here, this is only for her books, toys and her own things. If we ask her to place the remote in its place, she does that, ask for keeping the water bottle in place, she does that and ask for keeping the mobile on table, she does that. Basically she likes to lend a hand for our tasks. But when we say get that book and arrange it, No, she never does that. :-(
I Like to mess up, but I never like to clean it up!

Now she is able to play see-saw without our help. She holds the bar tightly and sits properly for playing on this. But the problem here is, she never understand the causes of falling down. What I mean is, if she does not like to play anymore on this, she tries to get down and never worried where the sitting bar is. If she want to come out, it has to happen in a next second. So we have to pay full attention on her when she plays.
Wow... I could catch the moon :P
