Happy Playing - Part II

Continued from Part 1

One more incident that me and my parents can't forget is this:  One Saturday, Thamizhini was so cranky in the evening as she woke up early in the morning and did not sleep in the afternoon too. I was calling her to get ready to go to park, but she was not listening to me, laying on the bed and playing. I tried my level best to dress her but she was not at all ready. I left the idea of taking her to park and we all were busy in doing other household chores. Suddenly Thamizhini was saying, "Varen Naren, Varen Naren.. Iru" and ran towards the Balcony. We all shocked because no one at home heard Naren's voice, but she did. My dad used to say that whenever they meet in the park for the first time for the day, they both run shouting each others name and hugs. For Thamizhini, Naren is very sweet to play with, but very hard to fight with.

The another good friend is Tarun, he recently became good friend to Thamizhini. Generally they don't fight each other and I should say Tarun is very calm and very sweet kid. Yeah, we have few incidents to share about Tarun. As they do not fight, I generally do not get any complaints from Thamizhini. These days their play time is fully occupied with cycling. They always walk with cycle and sometimes Thamizhini will not get her cycle and gets free ride from both the kids. We all feel scary when all three have their cycles, at least Naren and Tarun play carefully, but Thamizhini never. They all rides fast and very fast and stops in middle and all dashes themselves. :-(

One day I was returning from Office, saw Thamizhini in the park and shocked to see her dress. I asked my mom that how come she wore this dress today? as she was not all liked that dress, even though it is a new one. One evening I begged her like anything to make her wear that dress, but she did not like to wear and that day we did not go to play for this reason. My mom was proudly saying that she wore this dress to show Tarun. Yeah, My mom has told her to wear this dress, so that she can show it to Tarun and she wore it. Gosh...

Tarun and his Cycle!

The other day, I met Tarun's mom and we were simply talking about these two kids. She told me one thing that I could not stop laughing. She was telling me that whenever Tarun dresses himself, he tells that "Thamizhini ku intha dress romba pidikum" means, Thamizhini likes this dress very much.

My dad told me this: The other day Thamizhini went to park around 6:30 in the evening and Tarun asked Thamizhini like this: "Eh Thamizhini late panre, seekram va inime" means why are you coming late, come soon from now on.. My goodness...

Apuchi, Don't scold Thamizhini, Enaku pidikathu!

Like this, there are lot of incidents and all of them when we think of it, put smile on our face for sure. This is one more cutest incident. My dad told me this: One day, Thamizhini and Naren both had one stick on their hand and were playing with that. After sometime they both started fighting like, with swords. So My dad went in between and separated them and pulled that sticks from them and thew away. Thamizhini got angry and started crying like crazy. By seeing her, Naren got angry and came to my dad and told him like, "Why did you threw that, see Thamizhini is crying. I'm not playing anymore, I'm going home." He shouted like this and ran towards his home it seems.

Ready... Set… Go...!

Yep! It is just an another milestone for Thamizhini! I feel like only yesterday I was swaddling my little one and now if I see, she's on her way to school. Oh My God! Yeah, frankly speaking Thamizhini was ready to go to school long back, but we only waited for an auspicious day i.e. "Vijayadasami".

Choosing the right preschool was not very tough for us, we visited few schools, in and around and finalized one. Actually I was really looking that preshool should not be a school where kids always with class room activities. As she is just 2.3yrs, I want her to be on her own to enjoy the days with kids and playing around. Yeah, and little activity that teases her brain.

As yesterday was "Vijayadasami" and as we planned we enrolled her on that day to school, and in the school itslef they had "Vidyāraṃbhaṃ" pooja. So we started from home around 9:30am and we reached there and waited for Pooja to start.

The ritual involved an invocation to Lord Ganapati for an auspicious start to the learning process and initiation into the world of syllabary that began with the writing of the mantra. After reaching there, we waited for sometime to Pooja get started. I have to say that tough thing was managing Thamizhini there. Earlier she used to be calm if we go somewhere a place that is new to her. But these days I could not find that Thamizhini. She started playing and she only stopped when we started from there.

After writing on the grains, Thamizhini started playing with her known friends in the school. Naren, little elder to Thamizhini, but still her best friend and going to the same school, so she was so happy to be there. Apart from him, 3 more kids from our apts go to same to school, so I'm not really nervous to send her to school.

We are happy that our little one stepped in to a new world and we hope she will enjoy her childhood with her new friends in a new environment.

Happy Playing - Part I

I need not worry about allowing Thamizhini to play, as our apartment has its own play area for kids. And Thamizhini for her 2.4 years, she has spent almost all her evenings here only. We started taking her out from her six months and till now she hasn't missed her play time, except few times due to cold / fever or gone out. I'm really very much happy that Thamizhini enjoys her childhood with all time play. Kudos to my in laws and my parents, as they are the one who take her everyday to play.

Initially when Thamizhini was small (I can say, Stage1), she was very calm and quitely watched other kids play from our hand when we sit in the park. Everyone in the park used to say that Thamizhini is so cute and calm. Once she started walking, (stage2), she used to pull her body towards the play items like swing, slides etc. We had to sit with her on the swing and play with her. Once she started talking with few words (may be stage3) like what she wanted, we were in trouble. She always wanted to play and always wanted to go to the park. Till then everything was OK and we could manage her in the park. But I used to think by seeing other kids play, and their parents first and most task in the park is "reconciliation" :D

She started walking, running and talking fluently (stage 4), yeah, it started at her one and half years of age and nothing was in our control. I need not have any more staging for her, because there is no much change in it. Always fighting, complaining and then crying. Gr....

Thamizhini has many friends in the Apts, and many are passer by. But as of now Naren and Tarun are Thamizhini's good friends. They all three play together and some times they make group among three and plays. Yeah, they will leave one alone and play, most time of the time Thamizhini will be alone as she is smaller compared to them and sometimes she cries adamantly so boys leave her n go :D

Apuchi, I'm grown up! I'm able to climb up!

Most of the time Thamizhini's granny will accompany her, but once she is back from park, she used to illustrate all the things that happend in the park. All incidents would be lovely to hear from her and I would love to see her expressions when she talk about them. And of course most of the incidents are about complaining them.
The one incident that she and me cannot forget in our life time is this. This happened around 2.5 months back, but still she remembers and tells me twice in a day. On that day, she casually came home from park after playing and while I was bathing her, she told me this.

Thamizhini: Amma...
Me: Enna da.
Thamizhini: Amma, Naren enakellam cycle kedaiyathunu sollitan.
Me: Eh da apdi sonna?
Thamizhini: Enakellam cycle kedaiyathunu sollitan.
Me: (Repeating) Eh da apdi sonna?
Thamizhini: (Thinking for a while and ) Therile...

Of course there should be some naughty story behind this but she was not ready to share that. Even If I woke her up from sleep and ask, she will tell this. This has been carved in her heart I guess.

Naren: Thamizhini is naugthy!

And these days, Naren become more dependent on Thamizhini and he comes our home by searching for her. And once he is in, he holds Thamizhini's hand and pulls by saying this: "Va Thamizhinii, Velayadam. Va polam." And for first few times she would look at me to seek permission from me. But these days, if he asks, she will run with him. She will not wait me or my mom to accompany her. We had to run behind them. And sometime they both play in our house and Thamizhini likes to share everything to him.

In the evening, if Thamizhini is late to go to playground, Naren would come to the ground floor of our block and calls Thamizhini by saying her name. For first few times Thamizhini was not aware that he is calling her, but later whenever she hears her name, she tells us that "Naren Koopidran", even we would not have heard his sound. 

Moving on to Part II with few more cutest incidents!

Successful 2nd Year

We all were happy to the core to throw out a party to dear and near ones for this special day. We planned to have celebration on the birth date itself even though the date falls on weekday! Her Ayah had taught her that July 2nd is her birthday and she started telling this to everyone and happily invited them for the party. We had planned to celebrate her birthday on the hall which was readily available on our Apts itself.

Morning some how she woke little early than usual and took bath nicely! I made her to  wear new dress and when I asked her what was special today, she told, "Happy Birthday Enaku". It was so lovely to hear this. After breakfast, We went to near by temple and did "Archanai" for her.  Thamizhini was not very much aware that we have a party tonight for her, even though she had attended many birthday parties.

We partially prepared food for the party and order few items from outside to reduce our burden in the evening.  My friend Lakshhmi came early with her kid Gayathri to the party and she was helping us in preparation. I dressed Thamizhini with cute salvar set and she very much liked to wear it. She liked that Dupata very much and sometimes she used to take mine and wear. As this was her first Salvar, she was very much happy to have that Dupata on her. We all were ready by 6pm and moved to the party hall which located in our block.

There were many kids on the party and all were enjoying and playing with balloons and color paper. Thamizhini was in full of joy and I guess she felt that she was center of attraction as all kids were coming and giving gifts to her. She was happily collecting gifts and never worried about who is giving her :D She would have thought collecting is her only duty on that day!

Me and Nalin invited few of our friends from office and rest all are Thamizhini's friend in the Apartment. I was not knowing few of her friends, but she was happily calling them and playing around there. 

We have ordered Brown bear (yeah, Brown bear Brown bear, what do you see?) cake and it came out really well. All kids were very happy to see that Bear cake and all were waiting to cut the cake. We cut cake by 7:30 as most of the invite have come in time. It was really wonderful to have all kids around the table and all were happily singing happy birthday to Thamizhini! We can celebrate each birthday like this just to have all kids around us.

Dinner started soon after cake cutting and my friend Lakshmi helped to serve better. She gave idea of keeping all food in order so that it will be easy to serve without missing any of the items. Kids were enjoying drinks and cake where elders had their dinner relaxedly!

The party was over by around 9:30 and we came back to house after light cleaning of the room by 10pm. Thamizhini was damn tired but still she was not ready to go to sleep. She really does not have any idea about the gifts and did not ask us to open it also. Even we felt not to open now as we all were very much tired and we thought we could not surely control Thamizhini. She was simply carrying all the gifts and covers and was roaming here and there in the house.

I could say the party had gone very well,  Me and Nalin are satisfied ourself that we have retreated all our friends :-)

Kids Day out!

It is really fun when kids play together, not only for them. But for the parents too! Yeah, me and my friend Sharmila along with our kids (Thamizhini and Yuthika) had been to "Toys Day Out", which is a play area located near by our flats. Kids were enjoying so much. Thamizhini was bit reluctant when she started playing, but once settled, they were not listening to our words. They both play on their own.

This was a small pent house, where babies(toy) sleeping on the cradle. Thamizhini had no idea about it, but Yuthika was in a good form. She was taking baby in one hand and feeding bottle in other hand and telling to baby to drink! It was really a wonderful fun to watch her. She was not ready to move other place as she is settled with that baby doll.

Yuthika Birthday

These days Thamizhini started attending Birthday parties at least once in a month. This time we had been to Yuthika's (Sharmila's daughter) second birthday party. Yuthika's first birthday party was the Thamizhini first party to attend and that time she was just 7months old. Time goes very fast and the little one is completed two now.

Party was planned at 7:30pm in her house itself, and as her house is quite near by for us, we planned to go by 7 after Nalin returning from office. I came back from office and dressed up Thamizhini and Nalin also joined in time. In another 15mins, we  were there in the party house.

Yuthika was so cute in her Pink shirt and blue jean. She is such adorable cute pie, very much soft in her voice and even in nature  She was so happyily walking and running behind the baloons. The room decoration was good and every one is happy to see the baloons everyhwere. Once we entered the house, Thamizhini was bit hesitated to get down from me as there were lot of new people. But after sometime, she got down and started playing with baloons.

Around 7:30, Birthday baby cut the cake, kids where so happy to sing Happy Birthday. Even Thamizhini sang "Happy Birthday" After having cake, we had nice and heavy dinner prepared at home. Thamizhini tasted all variety of foods and was feeling so much happy to be with kids. We gifted some of "My Pretty Board-Books" series and Yuthika is so happy to receive it.

Rishmy Akka in Chennai

My friend Benazir with her family had come to Chennai and she visited us on Sunday evening. It was really a wonderful evening for us as it was a long time back that we had met. I liked to see my friend but I must admit that I was more interested to see my friend's Daughter Rishmiya. She is such a wonderful darling to be with, she is too smart for her age and she likes to share her things when she play with her mates. I love this habbit as I have seen so many parents struggle to solve sharing issues with siblings and friends.

Rishmy: Thamizhini's Catch!

Thamizhini did not have an idea about who is coming home. But once they are at home, she started playing with Rishmy nicely. They both were talking, playing and Thamizhini was most interested to show her all toys.

They spent really short time at home, but even then kids were enjoyed very much. At last Rishmy did not even have mood to go back to Bangalore, she says that she will stay here with Thamizhini. :-)

Rishmy's best friend Priya had come with them and Thamizhini also easily attached to Priya. They all three were playing nicely with toys.

Hope you all remember that my friend Rishmy had given me a gift when I visted her! And any idea, what was in that gift pack? It was a cute Ghagra Choli for me!!! Hiya Hiya...

Rishmy Akka, Thank you very much for your gift. I liked it very much and loved the pouch which is attached to it. The dress was very much convienent to me. Actually I was bit worried that it will pinch me when I wear it as I saw the dress and thread work on. But it is not. It fits me awesome!

Visiting Rishmy

It was really an awesome journey for us. I never knew that it would be so easy  to travel to Bangalore by car! We started early morning around 5 O' Clock and we reached Bangalore EC by 10 O' Clock. But Whats special there? We have my Anna's house warming ceremony tomorrow!!!

Wow.. And as usual I have lot of plans in between. And one of that is meeting Benazir's Family :-)

Rishmy.......

It was just 4 hrs journey and we took break for breakfast for about an hour. Thamizhini was asleep when we started from house but she woke up when I put her in the Car. She did not sleep for about an hour but later she slept in my hand itself. Once she woke up, sky was very clear and she was so happy to see here and there! She did not really feel boredom to sit in the car itself. We stopped for her to have breakfast by 7:30 but she did not have it and started playing in the car. But when we had breakfast in hotel, she also joined us and tasted Pongal nicely from Saravanabavan.

I'm Happy to see Rishmy akka!!

The plan is to reach Anna's house and stay for sometime. Then take bath and start to Benazir's house in the evening around 3 or 4. So after reaching Anna's Apts, we explored the house and took rest for sometime there itself. After that we marched to the Guest house which he booked for us. And there starts the music!!! Thamizhini does not like to sleep in bed! does not like to take bath! does not like to have food! hmm... she was changing herself as Torture Thamizhini!!! Somehow I made her to take bath and fed food!

Meanwhile my friend Bena was giving messages and asking when are you coming! when are you coming! message me once you start! ( I was not knowing why Bena is messaging me these many times until I knew the original reason. Follow the link to know about it -> http://rismiya-farhana.blogspot.com/2011/06/happiest-sunday.html. We took NICE road to reach Bannerhatta road and reached her house in 45mins. and when we reached it was 5 O Clock. :-( And I was thinking myself that I have to leave Bena'shouse at least by 6:30pm.

Now I 'm remembering myself that how one and half an hour passed! It just went like a second! Rishmy had collected all her toys and kept ready for Thamizhini to play. Thamizhini was so happy to see all toys in one place and started playing with that. 

Rishmy is thinking: Evlo toys koduthalum eh epdi kurumbu panra?

 I could see Rishmy's happiness in her action itself, running here and there and showing all toys to Thamizhini and calling her "Kutii Kutti..." Mind blowing... Rishmy is just 3 years old and she calls Thamizhini as Kutti! What an affectionate word that is. We love you Rishmy darling! While we were driving back to guest house, me and Nalin were talking about Rishmy only.

Rishmy gave a gift to Thamizhini and told her not to open it here :D I was just wondering myself that who is teaching all these to this small kid. We obeyed her order and did not open the gift there. Even Thamizhini liked that golden color wrapper and was very happy to hold it in her hand while coming back to house. And any idea, What was it???

And What about Bena & Safi! Nalin met them for the first time but it never looked like that! as we always used to talk about them! Super Lady Bena prepared Bread Bonda and Onion Bajji in a minute and that tasted heavenly! Also the Carrot halwa with lots of Cashew nuts! I could feel the taste even now, it is just lingering in my tongue.

Finally set for bye bye...!!!

It was an excellent evening and unforgettable get together! But I missed one thing there! I wanted to meet my another best friend Swapna! I was not able to make it because we had to start as there was some pooja in Anna's house and even Thamzhini was very cranky!  

I'm really expecting to meet all my friends like this! But don't know when!
